New Coach Development Officer

Wasting no time in moving forward with our plans, we'd like to thank and congratulate our very own UEFA B coach Ian Cairns on his appointment as Coach Development Officer.  Ian will help support our existing coaches as well as any new coaches as they find their feet.

Keep an eye out for other news and positions that will become available over the coming months.
Senior Committee Members

Congratulations to our Chairman Matthew Potts and Lynne Bell who have been invited to join Ashington AFC's committee.

"In August we posted about a new chapter beginning for Ashington CFC Juniors and this is a fantastic opportunity we couldn't refuse.  This is  real positive move and it couldn't have come at a better time for our ambitious long term visions as both a senior and junior club.  Ashington is a proud footballing town and this will further cement a great opporunity for our young footballers to have a route into the senior game." Matthew Potts.
An Evening with Pete Sturgess

Ashington CFC Juniors were delighted to host Pete Sturgess for his Foundation Phase DNA Road Show on Monday 1st October.  The evening was a great success, with over 150 coaches in attendance and plenty to be taken from the evening.

We look forward to implementing Pete's DNA into our own players within the Foundation Phase.
 U14 Eagles Crowned Champions

Congratulations to Dave Hancock and our under 14s Eagles who won the NEYDL Championship.  A fantastic achivement for the lads, going unbeaten in the leage since October 14th.  Over the course of the season the lads won 21 out of 24 games, losing just twice.  In the process the Eagles scored 129 goals and conceded just 35.

Once again a big well done to the Eagles and they are hoping to build on this as they move into the Premier League for the 2018/19 season!
U16 CFC's NEYDL Cup Final Victory

Congratulations to our under 16 CFC who won the NEYDL Cup for their age group.  In a repeat of last years final, CFC again took on Blyth Spartans who were determined to maintain the title.  CFC were unlucky to go a goal down after dominating the game in what looked like it was going to be an unfortunate repeat of the previous year's final.  However after another large spell of pressure from CFC, two fantastic acrobatic efforts turned the scorline around to see our boys crowned champions.

Full Time: Ashington CFC 2 - 1 Blyth Spartans
 U16 Saturday Team's 100% Record

Congratulations to Gary Bell and our under 16 Saturday team on winning the Gateshead Apollo League.  The lads achieved 19 wins out of 19, scoring 129 goals and conceding just 15 in the process!  A great effort to keep the record going towards the end of the season when injuries meant the squad was down to the bare bones!

The team looks to build on their success with a fresh challenge next season, with the ultimate aim as a club of progressing the lads into the senior team when they are ready in the future.

 "2016/17 : A Brief Reflection"

The 2016/17 season saw success for three of our junior teams. Our U9 CFC, U12 CFC and U15 Colliers going the distance and winning their respective leagues. Our U15 CFC also fought hard and were unlucky to lose their Divisional Cup Final in a tightly contested one goal game.

However, the season could also be seen as a success off the field. Thanks to our Nike Partner Club coaching bursary we were able to put more of our volunteers through their FA Level 1 qualification. We have also secured another year with Nike, providing more funding for further coaching qualifications to new and exisitng volunteers.

We would like to thank the coaches who have come to the end of their coaching journeys at Ashington CFC Juniors and to welcome the many new faces on board.
